Oil Burning Application
Several factors may cause heavy oil burning. Stopping the oil burning is not an exact science. In other words, even after you complete the first application, you will need to continue to drive another 500, maybe 3,000 miles, before you will see the best results. It may be necessary to use a second application.
| STEP 1 | Add Auto-Rx® to a fresh charge of conventional (non-synthetic) oil with a new oil filter installed. Add Auto-Rx® at a rate of 3 fluid ounces per quart of motor oil into a warm motor. |
| STEP 2 | After adding Auto-Rx®, start the motor and idle for 5 minutes, or drive 2 to 3 miles to disperse Auto-Rx® into the host motor oil. |
| STEP 3 | Over time, drive 2,500 miles with normal driving habits. ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE CYCLE at 1200-1300 miles, change the oil filter only. If necessary, top off the oil (but do not add Auto-Rx® or other additives); then finish the remaining 1200-1300 miles in the cleaning phase. |
| STEP 4 | After completing the 2500 miles in the cleaning phase, drain the oil, change the filter, and refill with conventional oil (do not add Auto-Rx® or other additives). DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OR HIGH-MILEAGE OIL. |
| STEP 5 | Over time, drive 3,000 miles with normal driving habits. ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THIS RINSE CYCLE at 1500 miles, change the oil filter only. If necessary, top off the oil (do not add Auto-Rx®); then finish the remaining 1500 miles in this rinse phase. |
| STEP 6 | Change the oil and filter, but do not add any Auto-Rx® or other additives. Continue to drive as usual for another 500 to 3,000 miles. It is during this period that the oil burning should stop or significantly decrease. |
| STEP 7 | If not, you may need to do one more application of the clean and rinse phases -- Steps 1 through 6. |
