Most likely, yes. Auto-Rx^® is a relatively slow, methodical cleaner that dissolves sludge as you drive....that is, if the oiling system is not plugged up and the oil pump pickup screen is still open for oil flow. Auto-Rx^® can work only if oil is freely flowing.

The Basic Cleaning Application is this: Change your oil and filter and add one 12-ounce bottle of Auto-Rx^®. Then, after another 2,500 miles, change your oil and filter again, but do not add Auto-Rx^® or any other additive. Drive an additional 3,000 miles; then change your oil and filter again. That's it! But to keep your engine free of sludge, you may want to consider adding 2 ounces of Auto-Rx^® each time you change your oil.

For those who cannot achieve the mileage requirements of the Basic Cleaning Application, we have developed the FAST TRACK application, based on the customer types listed below. You may be qualified for the FAST TRACK if you:

• Have a car that recently failed a smog or emissions test and need a 30-day remedy.
• Are looking only to clean up ring packs.
• Are switching over to full synthetics and feel the need to clean and rinse to take full advantage of extended drain intervals.
• Desire to change over to synthetic oil before severe cold weather arrives.

The FAST TRACK application guarantees that you don't dissolve more contaminants than what the host oil and filter can handle.

Auto-Rx^® is a slow, methodical cleaner. It first dissolves the contaminants in the highest heat and oil flow areas of the motor, otherwise known as the working guts of the motor. The less-important surface area within the lubrication system will clean up last, likely in the second application.
