1996 Chevrolet Impala SS Transmission Improvement
1996 Chevrolet Impala SS, 4L60E transmission 81k miles
I had been experiencing a 1-2 "hammer-shift" and was getting
worried that my transmission was on it's way out. I did an AutoRx
application, as per the instructions on the auto-rx.net site, and the "hammer-shift" went away within a short time. I had a fluid exchange
done, and the transmission is now behaving like it did when I bought the car, with 43k miles on it. I'm pretty sure that the transmission would have failed soon, had I not done the AutoRx application.
