I just changed the oil in my 1991 Camry today after driving 500 miles with a new oil filter and the first bottle of Auto-Rx®. For the second application, after driving on the new oil and filter for 1,500 - 2,000 miles, do I need to install another new oil filter before using the second bottle of Auto-Rx®? Your instructions don't mention a new filter for the second application, but I wanted to confirm this.
The engine actually seems to be a bit quieter at idle. Even better, the cloud of blue smoke that I used to get at startup after the car sat overnight or at work for the day is down to a much smaller amount of puffing. The car used to look like a diesel when it was started with all the smoke! That smoke on startup is due to dry valve stem seals which is a common problem on the Camry 4 cylinder engines. Evidently Auto-Rx® is having some effect on rejuvenating those seals. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Dick Loveland
Frank Miller's response:
Hello, Richard,
No need to change filter as you describe engine as just "dirty" and not "sludged." Remember to visit our website and click on Basic Application and it can be of help. Please also visit the transmission area on our website; the combined performance of a clean engine and transmission is awesome and measurable.
